A tug is (often) a relatively small ship with  (very) large power and a special pull screw(s) used in the towage.

In this section of Havenfoto.nl you will find several  tugs. Harbour Tugs are often used in assisting large ships at the port to sail in or out. Also, the port tugs (or harbor tugs) are also often used for mooring large ships.

To be suitable for the above purposes, they should not only be equipped with strong pulling power, but must also precisely maneuver.
